    BACKGROUND
    The Beaver County Chamber of Commerce believes Beaver County is a great place to live, work and do business in the Pittsburgh region. We strive to promote economic growth and community development, all while focusing on membership value and participation. Our leadership throughout Beaver County and the region is highly recognized in the business community and beyond.
    The Chamber collaborates with all industries including small and large businesses and many nonprofit organizations.     POSITION OVERVIEW
    Membership is the lifeblood of the Beaver County Chamber, and the Vice President of Operations plays an essential role overseeing research, identification, cultivation and retention of members. The VP of Operations is a newly created position that reports directly to the President. The VP of Operations also
    supports the Marketing and Membership Committee of the Board of Directors and other committees necessary to support members. The VP of Operations is responsible for all membership related activity including, but not limited to dues, sponsorships, events (membership, education, networking), speaking engagements, inquiries, orientations, meetings and conferences.  The position also takes a leadership role in the operations of the Chamber necessary to support its operations, including keeping the Chamber offices welcoming and accommodating for members.
     
    More specifically, the Director is responsible for:

    • Designing and executing the strategy, in close partnership with the President, for cultivating new member relationships, and maintaining existing ones.
    • In coordination with the Membership and Events Director, field and process membership inquiries and work with staff and the Marketing and Membership Committee to orient new members.
    • Support Chamber leadership in generating and pursuing membership targets.
    • In coordination with existing staff, schedule and manage logistics and materials for monthly committee and board meetings.
    • Maintain membership lists and member/prospect database and monitoring engagement of members in BC Chamber activities.
    • Oversee activities conducted by the Marketing director (maintain website, including posting of all social media and events, and other activities as required).
    • Design and implement protocols for member contact, engagement and retention.
    • Responsible for office operations, including but not limited to, scheduling of the conference room(s), interfacing with the landlord, maintaining office supplies.
    • Supports fiscal actions of the Chamber, including deposits of checks, invoicing, event profitability. Development and monitoring of annual budgets etc…
    • Other duties as needed.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    The ideal VP of Operations candidate has a blend of the following:
    • A sophisticated and deep understanding about business principles, business development, sales, marketing and relationship cultivation
    • Strong organizational skills, including proven experience in managing lists, databases, and attending to details
    • Demonstrated experience successfully multi-tasking in a fast-moving and dynamic environment
    • Demonstrated strong communications and presentation skills
    • Ability to interact effectively with multiple parties concurrently
    • Prior successful experience in a client-service support, or other similarly responsive role
    • Prior successful experience with committee-driven or group process work
    • Ability to develop new ways to grow networks, build relationships, and implement communication efforts to cultivate those networks.
    • An intrinsic sense of urgency and immediacy in attending to work-related tasks
    • Experience in handling budgets with an understanding of basic financial competencies.
    • Experience in strategic, long-term planning to benefit the interest of the organization and members.
    • Ability to apply creative solutions to daily challenges
    COMPENSATION
    This exempt, salaried position has an attractive compensation and benefits package consistent with other
    organizations of similar focus. The generous benefits package is comprised of medical, dental, vision, retirement and paid time off hours.
