We are honored to invite you to the "Americans and the Holocaust" traveling exhibition hosted by the Carnegie Free Library of Beaver Falls. Our library has been chosen among a select group of national libraries, colleges, and universities to present this poignant exhibition from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. The exhibition, based on the special exhibit of the same name at the museum in Washington, D.C., examines the motives, pressures, and fears that shaped Americans' responses to Nazism, war, and genocide in Europe during the 1930s and 1940s. It marks a defining moment in the history of the 20th century. We are privileged to host this significant exhibition, which will be on display from March 17 through April 28, 2025. This thought-provoking exhibit details the public response to the Holocaust in the United States and invites visitors to think critically about what their response might have been during that time-period. Throughout the exhibition's stay at the Carnegie Free Library of Beaver Falls, we will feature multiple lectures from local history and social studies experts. These lectures aim to provide deeper insights and foster meaningful discussions about the themes presented in the exhibition. The lecture series dates and times will be announced in February. We look forward to welcoming you to this powerful and educational event. Join us as we reflect on this crucial chapter of history and consider its lessons for today and future generations. Teachers and faculty from K-12 schools and fellow institutions of higher education are invited to visit the exhibition. Please Please contact John Sanderbeck at 724-612-7968 or john.sanderbeck@cflbf.org for additional information or to schedule group attendance or school field trips. Sincerely, John Sanderbeck Vice President, Board of Trustees Carnegie Free Library of Beaver Falls
